The price war on British broadband seems to be escalating to new levels after TalkTalk announced yesterday, a whole new inclusive package costing just £5.89 per month.
Customers will have to pay £10.50 line rental (the same as BT) which does make the whole package cost £16.39 per month and customers do need to sign an 18 month contract.

The news by Epitiro is from their Q1 2007 Internet Performance Indicator Report, and also shows TalkTalk moving into the top 5 for the first time, joining Pipex, AOL, Demon and BT who have been at the top now for the forth consecutive quarter. The table (shown below) is based on technical performance, therefore customers with these providers should experience better connection and faster connection speeds. Orange and Virgin who in Q4 2006 were third and fifth respectively were not in the new top 5.
