Tiscali has launched its new Music for Life service

Leading broadband provider Tiscali has launched a new music download service, it has been announced.

The broadband provider, which is now part of TalkTalk's operations, has revealed that its Music for Life service is available to all Tiscali.co.uk users and features a catalogue of over 6.5 million mp3s.

Songs by established artists including Johnny Cash, Paul Weller and the White Stripes are included on the platform, as well as newer groups including Vampire Weekend and Temper Trap.

Neal McCleave, senior director of online at TalkTalk Group, said: "We are always looking for ways to enhance our portal and offer the best services to our six million users.

"The Music for Life service will be a great boost to our entertainment content and offers a huge range of tracks at very competitive prices."

Details of the new platform have come after rival broadband provider Sky also launched a similar service.

Sky Songs offers users both download and streaming services for a subscription fee.
