Be Broadband has sweetened the appeal of its student-friendly broadband products with a new promotion offering a free £25 Amazon voucher to all new customers.

Earlier this month, Be launched innovative nine month contracts on its Be Unlimited and Be Pro broadband deals. The packages were aimed at students who only require a broadband connection in their place of study during term time.

Savings on the nine month Be Unlimited and Pro products amount to £52.50 and £64.50 respectively compared with a 12-month contract. Now, for a limited period, Be is also offering all students who sign up for the deals a free £25 voucher, which can be spent on anything at the online retailer Amazon.

To subscribe to either package, consumers can visit Top 10 Broadband’s dedicated Be provider page and enter the code StudentOffer when completing their purchase. Although targeted at students, anyone can sign up for the nine-month deals and qualify for the giveaway.

Priced £17.50 per month, Be’s Unlimited deal offers subscribers a broadband speed of up to 24Mb and unlimited usage. The product also entitles buyers to a free wireless router and 24/7 customer support for no extra charge.

Similarly, the Pro package provides a broadband connection of up to 24Mb, unlimited usage and round-the-clock, free access to Be’s award winning customer-support, but also offers an upload speed of up to 2.5Mb and one static IP address.

Jessica McArdle, marketing manager at Top 10 Broadband, said: “Be's nine-month package with free Amazon voucher gives students more broadband for their buck and may quite literally bring music to the ears of any cash-strapped student."

News of Be’s latest attempt to court the student market comes as studies show that students are becoming increasingly financially savvy when choosing broadband deals. This was highlighted by a figures from Tesco Telecommunications showing that sales of pay as you go mobile broadband have increased by 71 per cent in recent weeks as the start of the new college year approaches.

Pre-paid deals, such as those from T-Mobile, 3 and Vodafone, enable students to top up with usage as and when it is required. Consequently, they mean that undergraduates are free of lengthy contracts and allow them to keep their outgoings down.
