Orange dongles have been selling well in the UK of late, according to the mobile broadband provider's latest Digital Media Index report

Figures for the period from August to September 2008 show that the number of mobile broadband subscriptions taken out grew by 2,139 per cent compared to November 2007 to January 2008.

The new data corroborates with figures that show mobile data usage has doubled over the past quarter, largely thanks to the growing popularity of 3G technology as a means of broadband connectivity.

Meanwhile, a representative of wireless provider The Cloud has stressed that the current mobile broadband network must be upgraded to meet the growing demand in coming years.
