‘Take a speed drop to cut bills’
29th October 2008
Consumers that are starting to feel the bite of the credit crunch can take many options to reduce their outgoings, including reducing their broadband speeds.
That is one of the moneysaving tips handed out by financial news advisor Thrifty Scot in a recently-published list.
According to the website, broadband users who do not actually require the speed they currently enjoy could consider downgrading their connection in order to save money.
Thrifty Scot recommended: "Check out the broadband speed and television package that you have and consider whether you actually need the speeds and channels that you are paying for.
"If not, then consider dropping down to a lower speed and a more basic television package to cut your bills."
Tiscali, Virgin, Sky and BT are among the providers offering broadband and TV bundles.
