Consumers look to cheapest deals

Nearly a quarter of British broadband customers are more likely to look for a cheaper provider in the current economic climate, a new survey has suggested.
Results from a study carried out by ISPreview show that 24 per cent of those quizzed said that they were more likely to change suppliers now than before the financial crisis began.
It was found that 11 per cent had already found a new ISP, prompted by the ongoing credit crunch.
"It’s clear from this study that consumers are becoming increasingly protective of the money they have, with uncertainty over jobs, banks and investments fuelling a defensive attitude towards spending," Mark Jackson, ISPreview’s editor-in-chief, told Connected Home News.
Mr Jackson went on to warn that the decision for customers to find a cheaper provider could sometimes come "at the sacrifice of service quality".
