BT’s new I-Plate device, although undoubtedly featuring some speed-increasing qualities will not work for everybody, one expert has warned.
The BT I-Plate is a device which aims to cut the electrical interference in households which is proven to slow internet speeds.
But Mark Benson of IT Vibe has pointed out that while a significant portion of customers may see improvements, a percentage of users will not reap the benefits of the gadgets for one reason or another.
He said: "Despite the high profile press releases and coverage the device has received of late it will not necessarily have a major impact upon every broadband user in the UK.
"Other elements such as how far you are from your nearest exchange will still impact upon your broadband speed."
The I-Plate, which is self-installed by being fitted into to the master socket of a home, is particularly effective at improving IPTV quality.
