T-Mobile develops dongle router
2nd October 2008
T-Mobile is set to release a USB modem which doubles up as a wireless router.
The dongle will also act as a dock, allowing the setting up of a wireless network on the move, connecting up to three users at a time, gadget news provider Pocket-Lint reports.
There are some drawbacks to the device however - a power point is needed to run the device and the SIM is locked for T-Mobile customers only.
The Mobile Broadband Share Dock is expected to cost £20 per month, but will only be available on an 18-month contract.
Stuart Miles of Pocket-Lint revealed that the gadget "will come bundled with a standard T-Mobile mobile broadband dongle".
T-Mobile’s mobile broadband subscribers already have the advantage of being able to access the operator’s many Wi-Fi hotspots free-of-charge.
