Survey shows acceleration of business broadband
2nd October 2008
The speed of British businesses’ broadband connections is rising and more firms would like to upgrade their service.
Data revealed in a recent study from market analyst Point Topic found that the number of companies in the UK with connections above 10Mb has risen from 18 per cent to 25 per cent between October 2007 and May 2008.
It was also discovered that 13 per cent now have super-fast connections of over 50Mb and that there is also a demand for faster services, with 45 per cent expecting ‘the need for speed’ over the next 12 months.
According to Point Topis, this means an estimated 800,000 firms will be in the market for an upgraded connection.
There was also a correlation between the size of the business and demand - medium or larger organisations were found to be more likely to wish for a speed increase than smaller companies.
