Sky Broadband goes unlimited

Sky Broadband’s Max package will now offer truly ‘unlimited’ broadband after the provider scrapped its fair usage policy on the deal.
Subscribers to the Max deal can now look forward to browsing and downloads without restrictions, after Sky announced the news.
Speeds of up to 16Mb can be enjoyed by contract holders, who pay an extra £10 for the service on top of their Sky TV package.
Fair usage policy is usually applied to heavy downloaders in order to ease traffic on a network, reducing the effect on other customers.
Subscribers to Sky’s other broadband offerings - Base, Mid and Connect - will still have restrictions applied when necessary.
Thinkbroadband noted a stipulation included in the terms and conditions for the new Max offer reserves Sky’s right to implement controls over its network in order to improve the quality of service if necessary.
