3 in mobile email offer
8th September 2008
Mobile broadband provider 3 is set to offer unlimited email as part of a new mobile phone package, new reports indicate.
The offer will only apply to handsets for the time being, but experts believe such a deal could have a place for laptop users.
In a move intended to mark the celebration of its one-year mobile broadband anniversary, 3 is expected to allow customers uncapped usage of email on the move for a tariff of £2.50.
This is thought to include attachments sent with messages, though those using Exchange of Notes services will have to pay double for the luxury.
Although the service is currently only restricted to handsets, industry analysts are confident that such an offer would be a roaring success in the dongle market.
Technology news provider the Inquirer predicts: "The INQ reckons that once 3G dongle owners are offered the same service they’ll sign up in their droves. No more worries about how many megabytes they are consuming a month."
