Orange in fixed-line relaunch

Orange has decided to relaunch its fixed-line broadband offering, targeting customers interested in phone deals, according to new reports.
The move is in line with the provider’s efforts to integrate its mobile phone and broadband businesses.
It is understood that customers taking a £35 per month contract will be offered Orange’s basic 2Mb home broadband package free-of-charge.
Explaining the decision re-offer the service, Orange’s consumer customer team vice president, Mike Newnham, told Mobile News: "We stopped marketing the service aggressively late last year so we could focus on improving the basics.
"The difference we’ve made is hugely positive and our customers are telling us so."
The news comes as the number of Orange fixed-line customers appears to be falling. Some 31,000 home broadband left between January and March of this year.
