Orange prepares broadband TV

Orange is preparing to offer broadband TV services as part of its packages, according to new reports.
The telecoms firm is trialling its broadband TV service on a national scale, preparing to go into battle with Tiscali and BT in the broadband TV bundle market.
Broadband TV send allows viewers to watch real-time digital television provided through their phone line.
However with broadband providers Sky and Virgin Media already possessing a significant share of the digital TV market, Broadband Choices product director Michael Philips is not sure whether the move is a wise one.
He added: "Add to this the fact that Orange Broadband has been experiencing an ongoing customer exodus - losing 44,000 customers in the last quarter alone - and you can see what a struggle it will be for Orange to make a success of this service."
Broadband TV - also known as IPTV - was pioneered by HomeChoice, which is now owned by Tiscali.
