Mobile internet interest leads to more stores for Vodafone

14th August 2008

Rising interest in mobile internet services (MIS) has led phone company Vodafone to announce that it will open 50 new stores in the UK.

The company has stated that each branch will have its own area for business customers and that they will work with prospective buyers, allowing them to test out MIS.

Extra outlets are to appear on the high street in September this year, bringing the company’s total number of shops to 400.

The first places expected to get retail locations will be in Bristol Cabot Circus and London’s White City development.

Vodafone’s announcement comes just five months after it said that it was planning to recruit a further 300 members of staff.

In related news, Orange has also revealed plans to open 60 new stores on the high street. The company said that it would support the move with an improved level of customer care.
