Sky beats analyst broadband forecast

Sky made serious inroads into the broadband market in the last quarter, adding a significant amount of new broadband customers.
According to new reports, the provider welcomes another net 200,000 broadband customers, beating an analyst forecast of 192,000.
That means the total number of Sky broadband subscribers has now reached 1.62 million.
According to the figures posted by the firm, the cross-selling of broadband with other services is working well as a marketing ploy.
Some 50 per cent of customers are opting for more than one product, with 11 per cent enjoying broadband, TV and telephone from Sky.
"While there is much uncertainty around the consumer environment, there remains good headroom for profitable growth," said Sky chief executive Jeremy Darroch.
Sky has made a £162 million investment into its broadband and telephony services over the past 12 months and recorded an operating profit of £724 million.
