BT Cornwall connections cut
25th July 2008
A recent loss of broadband connection in Cornwall caused significant disruption to local businesses.
Over 2,000 broadband customers in the St Annes area saw their connections lost after problems at a nearby local exchange.
Firms affected by the outage that were not on a BT business tariff for their broadband services faced the bad news that they would not be compensated for any business lost as result.
BT Spokesman, Jason Mann, told the Cornish Guardian: "There have been a number of problems this week with the equipment which provides broadband.
"We are doing all that we can to make sure that it doesn’t go down again and just about everybody has a working service."
Ted Bissell, managing consultant at the PA Consulting Group, recently advised businesses to make provisions for different levels of outages, from the most severe to minor losses of connection.
