Five launches catch-up service

Channel Five is pressing ahead with the launch of its broadband TV catch-up service.
The terrestrial outlet has initiated an advertising campaign to run in tandem with the start of Demand Five, which offers broadband users a mix of free and subscription content, reports the Guardian.
After the success of the BBC’s iPlayer service, ITV.com and Channel Four’s 4oD, Channel Five becomes the last of the terrestrial channels to set-up a complete broadband TV catch-up offering.
Dom Sykes, Five’s on-air brand director, told the newspaper: "Most viewers understand that you can now get your favourite TV online which allowed us to create a fun, accessible spot that reflects Demand Five’s easy-to-use service."
While Arash Amel, senior analyst and head of broadband media at Screen Digest, commented: "In some respects it is the most advanced service available."
Mac users will be disappointed with the news that Five will use the Windows Media Player format, meaning they will not be able to access content.
