T-Mobile: Mobile broadband in the ascendancy
9th July 2008
A new survey has highlighted the growing number of Brits who wish to get online and into the sun using laptops with mobile broadband.
According to a study conducted by T-Mobile, UK residents have more desire than ever to browse the web while enjoying the great outdoors this summer.
Some 44 per cent of those questioned felt that they should be able to access the web anywhere in the country, with one-fifth naming the beach as the outdoor location in which they would like to use broadband the most.
T-Mobile’s head of internet and entertainment services, Richard Warmsley, commented: "Mobile broadband has reached a tipping point and is now hitting the mainstream."
He went on to say that the trend identified in the provider’s findings "signals a huge shift in consumer opinion around broadband services".
In other data collected by T-Mobile, some 46 per cent of those quizzed said they would like to update their social networks while on the move.
