Tiscali and ONSPEED in software deal
17th June 2008
Customers using Tiscali broadband services will now be able to use ONSPEED’s internet acceleration software to improve connections.
In a recent announcement, ONSPEED said the free service was being offered in an attempt to bolster retention rates and increase customer satisfaction.
"The partnership gives Tiscali’s internet customers unrivalled speeds and allows Tiscali to continue to set its product apart from the competition," commented Greg Lee, head of sales for the company.
More than a million people around the world use the firm’s web acceleration software, which is specifically designed for connections of 2 Mbps or lower.
Using a patented compression technology, the group asserts that speeds can be made ten times faster. The software is available for both Windows and Mac users and can improve mobile as well as fixed-line broadband connections.
Tiscali is currently involved in negotiations with a number of telecoms providers over a prospective takeover bid of both its UK and Italian broadband services.
