UK courts using Wi-Fi

Court attendees in most Crown and combined courts throughout England and Wales can now access Wi-Fi, it has been noted.
Courts minister Maria Eagle has told online publication vnunet.com that BT Openzone wireless services have now been installed in 67 courts over the course of the last three months.
With the new installations, jurors, victims and witnesses will be able to browse the internet between court sessions, while journalists will also be able to file copy over the web.
"Her Majesty’s Courts Service recognises that going to court as a victim, witness or juror can be disruptive for many people who may need to keep in touch with their business, work or family," Ms Eagle said.
She added that the BT wireless services would help to make that process easier.
The wider deployment follows a successful trial period in the Royal Courts of Justice, the Central Criminal Court and other selected regional courts.
As part of its Openzone service, BT also offers customers the option to purchase a single voucher to access Wi-Fi hotspots around the globe.
