Users ‘paying too much’ says PlusNet

Many UK broadband customers are paying too much for their internet usage, according to provider PlusNet.
Neil Armstrong, products and marketing director at the firm, said some consumers have a lack of understanding about how much data they are using.
He asserted that this means that many are finding themselves incurring penalty charges for going over their download limit.
He went on to explain that its online usage calculator aims to help people ensure that they are on the right tariff for their browsing habits.
"There are plenty of customers out there who could be paying too much for their broadband and this calculator helps them … by making them more aware," Mr Armstrong commented.
He concluded by stating that the company aims to promote clear pricing policies that let people keep control of their broadband expenditure.
A recent YouGov poll commissioned by PlusNet suggested that 78 per cent of people have no idea how much data they download on a monthly basis.
