Vodafone extends mobile broadband coverage
13th May 2008
Vodafone has announced plans to extend the availability of its mobile broadband services to an additional three million people.
In the summer, the UK telecoms provider will begin infrastructural upgrades to improve mobile broadband access in six major conurbations: Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and Reading.
The firm has also stated its continuing commitment to making the use and purchase of mobile broadband products simpler, with flat-rate tariffs and plug-and-play software designed to make it easier to connect.
Nick Read, chief executive officer of Vodafone UK, said: "The recent acceleration in the take up of mobile broadband has demonstrated just how hungry consumers are for internet access wherever they are."
He added that the additional investment will make it easier for more people to connect to its award-winning mobile broadband services.
Vodafone recently received the Best Wireless ISP 2008 award from the Internet Service Providers Association.
In other recent developments, the company announced that it has restructured its mobile phone price plan to offer unlimited free internet access for its customers.
