PlusNet offers usage calculator

In an effort to help people stay within download allowances, broadband provider PlusNet is offering its customers a usage calculator.
The award-winning supplier reports that 78 per cent of users are in the dark about how much data they download on a monthly basis. Furthermore, 27 per cent of respondents to the company’s YouGov poll said that they were unsure of what their monthly usage allowance was.
Available online via PlusNet’s website, the broadband calculator has been released to allow people to ensure that they are on the right package as well as defending over-usage levies.
"Using your broadband with no idea of your limit, or level of consumption, is like making calls on your mobile phone without checking your bill or even knowing what contract you’re signed up to," said company spokesperson Neil Armstrong.
In March, PlusNet took the top spot in a uSwitch national broadband poll, soon after winning the Best Consumer Broadband accolade at the Internet Service Providers’ Association annual awards.
