O2 predicts one million customers

O2 predicts one million customers

26th March 2008

UK broadband provider O2 has announced that it plans to attract one million customers by 2009.

Speaking to the Times, the company’s chief executive Matthew Key has stated that the firm will continue its recent growth into next year, with a focus on customer retention by delivering unrivalled broadband services.

"You must make sure the customer experience you’re giving is in line with your brand," Mr Key noted.

Launched in October, O2’s broadband packages currently attract around 100,000 customers and have topped the list of an independent survey of broadband providers, the publication notes.

In spite of increasing domestic competition, Mr Key said that an aggressive marketing strategy would help to separate the company from other broadband suppliers.

O2 offers customers broadband packages starting from £12.50 - or £7.50 for current O2 mobile customers - with an unlimited monthly download allowance and speeds of up to 8 Mbits per second.
