In the third of its series looking at mobile broadband services, Money High Street has reviewed 3’s offerings.

The resource notes that while mobile broadband services in the UK are currently more limited than fixed-line internet packages, consumers have already seen significant reductions in price as a result of the increasing competition.

Regarding 3’s packages, they are found to be very similar to those offered by Vodafone, with a free dongle supplied with the longer term contracts and an initial outlay of £49.99 necessary on short agreements to cover the cost of the modem.

Commenting on 3’s services, the online publication notes that it "offers a cheap £10 per month option. This is excellent value, but the 1GB monthly limit will be too little for many users".

For those with larger usage requirements, the £15 per month 3GB package is touted as the best option.

Meanwhile, the Guardian has made similar assessments of 3 and Vodafone’s packages - with Vodafone’s £7.50 package found to be restrictive in terms of usage allowance, with 120MB of downloads available.

For those wanting to use the internet more extensively, customers are advised to buy products with higher usage allowances.
