Mobile broadband under the spotlight

With the increased freedom and reduced cost of mobile broadband services, a number of new products are proving attractive to consumers.
Financial advisory service Money High Street has offered practical guidance for those looking to use mobile broadband services, examining a different provider each week.
In the first review, the online resource looks at Vodafone’s services, which has become increasingly popular since its tariff was reduced to £15 per month.
The most notable drawback of Vodafone’s service is the 3GB monthly download limit, although it notes that "if you just like to check your email, do a bit of browsing and download the occasional song, Vodafone’s mobile broadband should be fine".
For those looking to use the internet for more download heavy services, Vodafone’s business offering may be better suited to requirements.
At a cost of £25 per month, users can enjoy unlimited downloads wherever there is access to Vodafone’s mobile phone network.
To further improve current access levels, Vodafone announced a partnership with Orange last month that will see the two companies sharing mobile phone masts in 2008.
