Sky reports broadband growth

Sky broadband saw a 28 per cent growth in sales in the second half of last year, the company has announced.

In its interim results for the six months until December 31st 2007, the broadcasting group indicated that there was a 260,000 upturn in sales of its broadband offering, bringing the total to 1.199 million.

The company also suggested that other products had similar success during the period, reporting record total product sales of 1.6 million.

Jeremy Darroch, chief executive of Sky, said that the company made "good progress" over the last quarter and suggested that the business continues to strengthen.

"Our focus on value and quality has delivered a strong level of new customer additions, a 35 per cent year-on-year increase in product sales, record ARPU and lower churn," he remarked.

France Telecom, the parent company of Orange, also revealed its 2007 financial results this week. The figures showed an increase in broadband subscribers.
