Vodafone offers cheaper wireless broadband

Vodafone offers cheaper mobile broadband

1st February 2008

Vodafone has announced the launch of a new cheaper mobile broadband service, which will allow users roaming broadband-speed access for £15 a month.

The new tariff also offers a 3GB usage limit, allowing for extensive music and video downloads as well as web and email needs.

Vodafone will introduce the service from February 4th, allowing access to everyone living in an area that currently has network coverage from the company.

Mobile broadband modems work by transmitting data over existing mobile telephone networks, a technology that is growing in both scope and popularity.

Mobile broadband is set to see a continual expansion over 2008 as new technologies and tariffs make the service more affordable and accessible.

The company will also offer a £25 a month tariff with a 5GB usage limit for households and businesses with high bandwidth requirements.

3 has also recently released a pay-as-you-go tariff on its network which provides a free wireless modem as standard on the £10 a month tariff.
