Broadband migration complaints have halved

Complaints over switching broadband provider have more than halved this year, it has been reported.
According to Thisismoney.com, this time last year the communications watchdog Ofcom was receiving 500 complaints from disgruntled customers every week.
The latest statistics from Ofcom, however, reveal that the figure now stands at 180.
News of the improvement comes after the watchdog sought to remedy the situation by compelling broadband providers to give each customer a Mac serial number that is required to commence connection within five working days.
Ofcom spokesman Simon Bates said: "Last year, we realised switching broadband providers was a big problem across the industry so we moved to address the issue."
However, despite the trend towards improved migration speeds, some broadband customers are still waiting in excess of two weeks to regain access to the internet, Thisismoney.com reports.
