Orange adds 5,200 customers for broadband service
26th October 2007
Broadband provider Orange boosted its customer base in the last quarter, following a slowing of growth in the preceding period, it has been revealed.
Figures from France Telecom, the firm’s parent company, showed that Orange had 1,142,000 broadband ADSL customers at the end of September, Ispreview.com reports.
This represents an increase of 5,200 over its stated subscriber base at the end of the quarter ending June 2007.
During the second quarter growth had slowed, with the ISP only able to add around 5,000 new ADSL customers.
News of the firm’s performance follows the launch of a new service intended to provide its subscribers with help and advice when using the internet.
It is hoped that the service will improve awareness among internet users of how to minimise risk of cybercrime and to act as counsel for those who have been the victim of cyber-bullying.
