Nearly one-quarter of broadband users earn over £50k

Almost a quarter of UK’s broadband users claim an income of over £50,000, recent research has revealed.
According to figures from internet analysis specialists Nielsen/NetRatings, some 24 per cent of those with broadband connections are in the £50,000-plus bracket.
Meanwhile, the largest section of broadband users was revealed to earn in the region of £30,000 to £50,000.
Further revelations from the survey included the disclosure that the most frequently visited sites among the highest-earning internet users included the Barclays Business Banking website, and the online arms of Arsenal FC and Companies House.
Alex Burmaster, analyst at Nielsen/NetRatings, said: "A variety of sectors are represented through sites with the largest concentration of wealthy visitors.
"Whilst business and finance brands are expected, many will be surprised to see the number of travel-related brands - which cover flights, hotels or just getting around London."
Figures released today show that the UK’s most popular news site remains the Guardian, although the Daily Mail’s visitor figures have recently increased 126 per cent.
