A number of UK broadband providers have been caught up in the flood problems that have swept Southern England this week.

When torrential rain hit the country over the weekend, Namesco’s Worcester offices faced the brunt of the weather and their offices are now under water and without power.

Namesco is now requesting of its users that unless their situation is urgent, to direct their queries to their online support ticketing section rather than calling the customer support lines.

In other news, Aquiss Internet is trying its hardest to try and help those hit by flooding to get back online as soon as possible, the firm has set up a ‘floodline’ to help deal with an increased number of calls relating to broadband outage.

Top 10 Broadband expect that UK broadband users may face ongoing problems until the end of July (2007), as the country struggles to get its phone, cable and broadband infrastructure back on its feet. Upton-on-Severn in Worcestershire is still cut off from other areas due to flooding while residents in Hertfordshire are being advised to boil their water before consumption due to the high waters affecting the local water treatment station. While water levels in flooded areas are expected to subside in the short term and broadband connections will slowly come back to life, we imagine that broadband is the last thing on the minds of residents in affected areas at the present time.
