Top 10 Broadband April Review

4th May 2007

Another month over and plenty more news has made the headlines at Top 10 Broadband. Firstly we have introduced three, new Internet Service Providers to our every expanding website. These include Direct Save Telecom (DST), Plusnet and most recently Namesco. You can view their offers compared to the others easily and effectively on our site.

Also more importantly, in the month of April we released version 2.0 of Top 10 Broadband, which includes a much updated and highly advanced postcode checker. This now includes a map showing you the distance between your house and your local exchange. It also advises on what line speed you should be able to obtain at your current address. The final major update is an advanced switching section which will help you beat your current package.

To the delight of many of you who read these news items, Top 10 Broadband news is on the home page! There are many new adaptations to our site which we really think you will like. Search round our site, and also look at our press release posted on the news section, to see all the changes that have been made. All these changes are an example of our ambition to make Top 10 Broadband the best broadband comparison site on the web, and we will continue to try and improve to make life easier for you the consumer.

In other news, wireless broadband thieves have been prosecuted, a crime that will most likely continue to grow as wireless broadband is increasing (such as the square mile in London now going wireless). Whether this will increase to the rest of the country is unknown as yet, but according to the broadband stakeholder group something needs to be done, otherwise we will fall behind other countries with our broadband technology. In some areas in Asia speeds of up to 100mb/s are not uncommon, which vastly out-shadows the capabilities in the UK.

There is so much to report in April; there’s Virgin Media taking Sky to the High Court, all Pipex’s bidders pulling out, and the first anniversary of free broadband. All of which shows us again that there is never a dull moment in the broadband world. And here at Top 10 Broadband we like to keep you at the cutting edge of the latest news.
