Plusnet have released a new broadband service aiming to be more personal for users, and may just change how other broadband providers supply their service.

Plusnet, acquired by BT earlier this year, are being revolutionary with their new offerings.

All their new packages are up to 8Mb/s with a variation in download limits. But there are two big changes for customers; firstly they are offering monthly contracts, so there is no need to be tied down to lengthy 12/18 month contracts (however, it will still be necessary to pay for your activation fee and hardware if you cancel your contract before 12 months).

Secondly, and more importantly, although each package has a download limit ranging from 1GB to 40GB, there is unlimited downloads between midnight and 8am when traffic for any ISP is far lower. There is no fair usage policy within this time, making the ‘unlimited downloads’ truly unlimited, unlike most providers who actually cap their ‘unlimited’ options.

The above option is also available for extra Gb for usage in the day time with a price of 75p per Gb.

Here Plusnet have taken big steps in making their broadband more adaptable, customer friendly and personalized - if their offerings are a success, it may force other broadband providers to follow suit.
