BT Wholesale to pick up the Biscit pieces

BT announced on the 16th March that they are going to step in and help Biscit broadband customers, after Biscit Internet recently went into administration.
From Monday 19th March (today), Biscit Internet customers (and there are around 6500 of them) can call a special helpline at BT Wholesale to obtain a Migration Authorisation Code (MAC). This will enable Biscit customers to switch to a new broadband service provider and hopefully minimise disruption and downtime on their service.
From today, customers will be re-directed to a web-page showing a phone number to call to contact BT Wholesale. However this webpage will only be open for 7 days. Once the MAC is obtained customers can switch to a new provider of their choice.
Customers of Biscit’s telephone service are also advised to look for a new supplier as, from Friday, they will be unable to make calls apart from 999. Incoming calls however, will still be operational while they look for a new supplier.
The collapse of Biscit Internet isn’t the first ISP casualty in the increasingly competitive broadband market. Particularly as big companies enter the market with expensive advertising budgets and price cutting tactics.
If you are a Biscit customer you are advised to phone for a MAC code and to make the switch as soon as possible.
