Short & no contract broadband explained
Normally when we think about getting broadband we're pretty resigned to the idea that we're going to have to sign up to a 12 or 18 month contract. This can be extremely irritating, especially if you're moving house, a student, you discover you dislike the internet service provider (ISP) you sign up to, or if you find a much better deal 20 minutes after signing up to a 12 month contract!
Disconnection fees can be pretty steep, so signing up to a broadband package can be quite a commitment. However, a new generation of broadband packages have materialized; short and no contract broadband which provide much greater freedom.
Award winning short contract broadband
Find out who was the winner in the best short-contract broadband category of the Top 10 Broadband Awardsshort-contract broadband
Short-contract broadband suits:
- Those moving house and therfore can't sign up to a 12 month contract.
- Students who will not want to pay for broadband during holidays.
- Those who want the freedom to shop around regularly for better deals.
The downside of short-contract broadband:
- Connection and upfront fees often charged.
- ISPs tend to charge more for short or no contract broadband.
What can I expect from a short-contract broadband package?
- A three-month, one-month, or no-contract broadband package as opposed to 12 month.
- No disconnection fees for ending your contract.
- The freedom to shop around before you commit to a provider.
With more ISPs offering short-term broadband packages, competition is leading to lower prices. Check our short-term broadband comparison tables regularly to ensure you don't miss out on the best deals!
