After months of mounting speculation, the iSlate is finally about to break cover. Join us later here at the Top 10 Broadband blog where we’ll be live blogging the launch of Apple’s latest wonder device.

Apple products often attract comparisons with Jesus. But as our society increasingly puts its faith in technology rather than old time religion, it’s doubtful that a even the Son of God's second coming would garner quite the levels of rapturous excitement that’s surrounded the iSlate.

So far, despite purported leaks from Apple, specs and functionality are entirely unconfirmed. But that’s not stopped people from indulging in some pretty rabid speculation. Quite the opposite, in fact, with technology sites and sober-suited business news providers seemingly united in their zeal for any scrap of iSlate information, regardless of how shadowy their sources might be.

Latterly, we’ve heard talk of a ten-inch touchscreen user interface, ebook reader functionality and an optional physical keyboard. But perhaps most enticing for those of us who’ve been priced out of owning a Mac, it’s also been rumoured that the iSlate will go on sale bundled with mobile broadband deals.

Excited? You should be. Lucky for you then that we’ll be bringing you all the news from the iSlate’s California launch from six o’clock tonight (UK time). Join us then for live updates and a typically Top 10 take on the technology event of 2010.
