On the basis of over 310,000 speed tests captured on Top 10 Broadband site between March and June 2008, O2 has conclusively been awarded the ‘Fastest Broadband Award’.

In research conducted by Top 10 Broadband, the team discovered that speed has superseded price as the most important factor for broadband users today.

O2 are the fastest ISP in 2008 based on 317,293 speed tests carried out on the Top 10 Broadband site between March and June. O2 have an average download speed of 6.128Mb and ISP rating of 3.84/5 based on this data. O2 are clearly the best broadband provider for speed.

Speed is becoming an ever-more important factor in broadband packages, with the rise of online video streaming sites such as YouTube via the BBC iPlayer speed has never been more important. Consumers are demanding fast broadband packages and O2 have risen to the challenge by rolling out faster broadband to customers across the UK.
